In a Van...?

Transit Challenge... interesting words, full of danger and other complicated things.

Kayla, Erin, Yong Min, Kyle, Mimosa, Silja, Witte and Lilamaria, total of 8 are the brave people who decided to join this mission/adventure: Survive 5 months in a Van, and share the gospel wherever we go.
This challenge started on July 24, at 5:30 in the morning, when we spent 20 minutes trying to sort all the luggage in the Van. Our first travel was from Italy to France, and consisted of 6 hours, but was a little longer because we get lost thanks to "John" (our GPS). We were headed to France to join the larger Transform Outreach team....and we almost made it.

At the end of the day, our Van suffered a little problem (exhaust pipe detached itself). We felt like we were dealing with the Italian Maffia when the mechanic, taxi driver, hotel owner, tow-truck driver, and a German guy were working together and giving us a really hard time. After dealing with our new Italian friends, we went to a hotel, where four of us, Kyle,Kayla, Witte and Lilamaria stayed for 6 days and waited for the van to be repaired.

Yong-Min, Erin, Silja, and Mimosa went on to France, where they started to work with the Transform team and the Methodist churches of Caveirac and Codognan.

After 6 long days the team reunited. Once together, we worked in Kids Clubs, handed out church info door to door, visited a retirement home, promoted a Puppet show and performed in an International Night for the community. And all of this was done without any of us knowing French! At times the language barrier has been discouraging, but we are here for this, and we decided to follow this mission... Plus the Transform team has been very supportive and their French skills have really helped us to communicate. For us trying to speak in French is fun! Being able to say hello, goodbye, and thank you in any language has proven useful.

The 20th of August we head to Portugal! Please,if you can pray for us,will be soo cool...is around 2 days of traveling :)

BLESSINGS...and cheers :)
